Mind you, whenever I pronounce Girard-Perregaux my imagination goes wild, somewhere deep into a world of luxury, of exquisiteness, where things are crafted from perfection and built to last for eternity. Similar tracks are being roamed by the Constant Escapement, but his time the watchmaker has focused on creating a piece that goes out of the brand’s usual classy styles, for the benefit of more modern ideas and designs.
Don’t panic though, it still boasts some classical influences here and there, as proof for the Girard-Perregaux designation. The timepiece boasts a 48 mm wide 18-carat white gold case, while the Constant Escapement itself has been finished in an industrial style.
Powering from the innards is the in-house caliber MVT-009100-0007, bestowing the watch with even more reliability, modernism and purpose. The uniquely designed escapement is made of silicon, which is quite an interesting achievement, a genuine innovation. The dial is gorgeously silvered with grained finish and rhodium-plated appliqués, while the hands are crafted in a superb dauphine style.
The Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement boasts with 30-meter water resistance, 271 parts and 28 jewels. It also comes with a gorgeously beautiful black alligator strap. Nevertheless, by far the most staggering aspect of this exquisite timepiece is its price – an absolutely mind-boggling $100,000!
