Hyundai released today the first images and details of the new HND-9 concept, which previews a future luxury sports coupe. Why the Hyundai HND-9 name? Because this is the ninth concept developed by Hyundai Motor Group's R&D Center in Namyang, Korea.
The HND-9 represents a new step in Hyundai's fluidic sculpture design philosophy. It is the Korean carmaker's modern interpretation of a classic sports coupe. As always, Hyundai is trying to create a "premium" image for itself and we have to admit, the HND-9 concept is a step in the right direction. The power comes from a 3.3-litre turbo GDi petrol engine, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. If Hyundai manages to couple the 370 PS of this engine with a low weight, they might have a winner. The Hyundai HND-9 concept features butterfly doors, and a dual twin exhaust system.
We'll have more details about the HND-9 concept as soon as Hyundai makes them available.
