At the recent Paris Who’s Next show, Peugeot Cycles division has presented the compact AE21 Hybrid Bike, a production version of the eDL122 concept bike.

The AE21 ebike translates into a production reality the concept and ideas presented by Peugeot Design Lab at the 2012 Paris Motor Show with the eDL122 Concept Bike designed by Neil Simpson.

Compared to it, it maintains the general look, compact proportions and main features, while some of the distinctive elements of the concept – like the cables  totally concealed inside the distinctive handle bars.
The ebike features an electric motor located in the front wheel, which makes it perfect for effortless, quiet and clean urban use. It is powered by a compact Lithium-ion battery, integrated into the frame.

As in the concept, the battery is locked in place and can be recharged directly in the bike or removed for recharging at home.

The ebike is based on the ‘Clever Case’ frame, which is made of lightweight and hardwearing aluminum and accommodates the battery, a laptop bag and a high quality ABUS Bordo folding lock to ensure the everyday protection of the bike.
“By placing the storage at the center of the bike your laptop and documents are protected from theft and assist the bike’s dynamics and balance so that it is always fun to ride.”

“Thanks to its compact dimensions and folding handlebars and pedals, the AE21 can be easily stored against a wall of an apartment.”

“Its matte black and glossy white finish is elegant and timeless. This is enhanced by a touch of the signature ALLURE orange which also highlights the saddle, grips and bag, all of which are exclusively created for the AE21.”
