HP ENVY Leap Motion Notebook

The revolutionary Leap Motion control system is officially a built-in option for a new generation of laptops, namely the HP ENVY Leap Motion Notebook.  Leap Motion is a 3D motion control device that allows for Kinect-style control of a computing environment.  It’s similar to Kinect, but with an even higher accuracy of capturing the user’s gestures.

It can be used to control games, it can be used as a computer graphic input device and it can allow for new ways to browse through media, software and even business presentations.  Today, HP has announced that the new line of HP ENVY 17-inch notebooks are available with Leap Motion built-in.  This provides a new level of control over the computing environment without touching a keyboard or a mouse.

The HP ENVY17 Leap Motion SE notebook will begin shipping in October starting at $1049.99.  If you’re new to the world of Leap Motion, check out the video below for some examples of what this kind of technology can do.  If you’re interested in more, check out our write-up that featured Leap Motion from last year, “Designed for Control: 7 Revolutionary Interface Designs“.
