The next evolution in surfing has arrived in the Martin Sula designed JetSurf. The jet propelled surfboard is not only taking surfing to new heights, but quite possibly birthing an entirely new water sport for action junkies to enjoy.
Living in San Diego, surfing is one of the most popular activities among the local crowd, and we can definitely see the JetSurf catching on as well. Sula is a Formula 1 engineer from the Czech Republic, and he has used his knowledge and expertise to equip an otherwise standard surfboard with a two-stroke 100cc engine creating a hybrid jet-ski surfboard that hauls ass through the water.
The carbon fiber constructed board can reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, and has a fuel tank capacity that offers up around 45 miles, giving you a solid hour and a half of fun out on the water. The throttle is controlled by the electronic leash, and even comes with an emergency kill cord if things get out of hand. You really have to watch the video below to fully appreciate the potential of the JetSurf.
