Following up on an initial rollout program which saw Google Glass hit the streets of select areas, Google has unveiled the follow-up to the wearable augmented reality device. The tech giant has outfitted Glass with a hardware update, as well as a new earbud system to replace the previous bone-conduction speaker.
Further, the device will also be compatible with prescription eyeglasses, expanding on the strategy to make Glass a universal everyday accessory. Google announced plans to expand its ‘explorer’ program, giving existing U.S.-based Glass users the chance to extend the test program to their friends. With more developments surely following in a more formal announcement, stay tuned to Google Glass’s homepage.
