Defence and security company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) concerning the maintenance and adaption of basic development resources for Gripen during 2014.
The order value amounts to SEK 355 million and includes the operation of rigs, simulators and test aircraft for the verification and validation of the fighter aircraft systems Gripen C/D and Gripen E and operational support to Gripen C/D.
The contract includes options for additional orders for the years 2015-2016 amounting to SEK 710 million.
“It is positive to now have this agreement in place which means that Saab can continue to support the Swedish air force's effective operation and development of Gripen,” says Ulf Sangre, contract manager Saab, business area Aeronautics.
