Jabra has taken its Bluetooth headset technology to create the Solemate, a portable speaker that seemingly takes its styling cues from high-traction footwear. The top and bottom of the rounded, rectangular form is finished in impact-resistant rubber, with the lug sole-like bottom built to house a 13-inch 3.5mm audio cable.

A fabric loop on one end allows for easy carry and resembles a shoe’s pull tab. The other end features a microUSB port and 3.5mm audio input, above which sits an on-off toggle that doubles as a Bluetooth pairing switch. On top are top are two volume buttons and a multifunction button for commanding calls and controlling the Voice Guidance feature. In terms of performance, two acoustic tweeters surround a subwoofer — along with a proprietary passive bass radiator — to put out up to 120dB of volume. A built-in battery provides up to 8 hours of playback. Check out a video overview below, and get the Solemate now directly from Jabra.
