There’s just a week left until the famous Geneva Time Exhibition (GTE) will open its gates. The exhibition, due to be taking place between the 22nd and the 25th of January 2013, will reportedly boast with two major unveilings – the latest limited edition timepieces from Linde Werdelin.
The Linde Werdelin Oktopus II Moon Watches come as a sequel to the original Oktopus Moon, which has been launched at the beginning of 2010. Glamorously, the brand has implemented its in-house stunning complication into the Oktopus II series as well, a true step ahead. The cases of the two models are based on the updated Oktopus II model, previously unveiled in 2012 at Basel.

To be considered – the 2010 Okto Moon was in fact a limited edition of just 29 pieces, boasting water resistance of up to 888 meters. The second edition, the Okto II, only resists to lower pressures, of up to 300 meters.

Unlike the original Oktopus Moon, the Oktopus II Moon has been fitted with the in-house photorealistic moonphase complication. Furthermore, this is the first complication entirely designed, developed and manufactured in-house by Linde Werdelin, reminding of Svend Andersen’s innovative work.
The number 59, which represents the total number of Oktopus II Moon watches to be manufactured, is in fact the double of the number of days it takes the moon to complete a full lunar cycle – 29 and a half days. The timepieces are all numbered sequentially, the Oktopus II Moon Gold being numbered from 1 to 12, while the numbers between 13 and 59 represent the Oktopus II Moon Black version.

The gold model boasts with rose gold touches alongside a titanium DLC case with ceramic bezel, while the Black edition comes with a full DLC titanium case with ceramic bezel and gorgeous blue details on the dial.

In terms of pricing, the Oktopus II Moon Gold edition can be acquired at approximately $30,300 a unit, while the Oktopus II Moon Black is available at around $13,800, according to Linde Werdelin’s main website page.
