Swiss sensor manufacturer senseFly has revealed its all new autonomous ultra-light UAV called eBee for a variety of applications including mining, emergency situations and disaster management. Made from a very light foam material, this UAV has a modular design which means that it can be disassembled and wings can be folded up for storage in a small case measuring 45x25x55 cm. Once you launch it with your hand, the autonomous flight path can be planned in advance with the eMotion software.
One can change the flight path any time or generate a new flight plan just with a mouse click. This new software allows you to plan, simulate and fly designated missions just by defining the mapped area.
eBee has an aerodynamic design for maximum flight stability and endurance while the take-off weight of 630g and 96cm wingspan ensures 45 minutes of non-stop flight time at 36-57 km/h cruise speed. The radio link can be established for up to 3 km and while landing the ground sensor and reverse engine technology ensure there is no damage to the UAV itself. eBee is electric powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery making it a low noise and zero pollution vehicle soaring in the skies.
