I don't know about you, but when I hear the word Hennessey, my mind jumps instantly to thinking "obscene amounts of horsepower". Recently, the North American aftermarket specialist did its act on the McLaren MP4-12C. Hennessey's version of the MP4-12C develops 704 hp at 7,500 rpm and 538 lb-ft of torque at 5,800 rpm. In case we didn't prove out point yet, here are some performance figures.
The Hennessey HPE700 McLaren MP4-12C is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and to run the quarter mile in just 10.3 seconds at 137 mph. Case closed! Of course, transforming the already impressive McLaren into such a beast was not a walk in the park. Hennessey's engineers had to unlock the MP4's ECU and reprogram it. They also installed an upgraded intercooler, dual air induction filters, and a stainless steel sports exhaust system.

On paper, Hennessey's MP4-12C is a serious competitor for the Ferrari Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT. This is supercar stratosphere. Let's hope Hennessey's price for the new MP4-12C mods does not reach these types of heights.
