BMW revealed today the R nineT motorcycle, which is meant to celebrate BMW Motorrad's 90th birthday. The BMW R nineT is powered by a 1,170 cc air/oil-cooled flat twin boxer engine that's good for 81 kW (110 hp) at 7,550 rpm and 119 Nm (88 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm. The power of the engine is sent to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox and the cardan shaft drive.
BMW says that the R nineT bike is ideal for customization. It comes with a modular frame with removable pillion frame and frame end-piece. The BMW R nineT has a classic suspension system, two exhaust silencers on the left side, traditional wire-spoke wheels and 4-piston monoblock brake calipers with 320 mm (12.6 inch) discs. BMW claims that the R nineT is going to give you feel that it was built by hand.
BMW is going to sell the R nineT with a range of special accessories, which include two bags (tank and rear), kneepads, an aluminum tail cover, and HP Carbon covers for the engine block and the front fender. The R nineT is equipped with a Titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, an anti-theft alarm system, heated grips, and LED lights.
