The creative minds working away at the Peugeot Design Lab (Peugeot’s design department which is available to outside clients) has just unveiled a surfboard concept. The board, called the GTi Surfboard, will form part of Peugeout’s display at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed – where they’ll also have a Flowrider Surf Machine on their stand. See, it does kinda make sense!
The design of the Peugeot GTi Surfboard concept was inspired by the new 208 GTi, as well as the RCZ R, and also the dramatic Onyx concept car. The board combines the traditional wood of a classic surfboard with lightweight carbon fiber. Underneath are four fins which Peugeot say are designed to help provide a more responsive ride. Not being gifted with the ability to surf, or indeed know anything about the sport, I can’t tell you if the design is an improvement on the regular surfboard.

Peugeot say the GTi Surfboard concept will be on display next to the Flowrider Surf Machine on their stand. They don’t explicitly say it will be used on the machine. So the chances are this is more a case of form over function. Prove me wrong Peugeot!
